The UK Schmidt Telescope (UKST) has a mirror 1.83m and began working in 1973 with the initial task of surveying the southern sky. The UKST is at the very right in the image below.
The second large dome towards the right houses the UK Schmidt Telescope (UKST). This photograph was taken looking towards the west. Other observatories can be seen to the right.
The photograph to the left was taken in early August 2021 and shows the UKST pointing to the zenith.
